Beneath the Sea 2009February 17, 2009 - 12:38 pm
33rd annual Ocean Adventure Exposition and Travel Show will convene the weekend of March 27th , 28th and 29th, 2009 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey.

Beneath The SeaBeneath the Sea is America’s largest consumer ocean adventure exposition celebrating scuba diving, travel, and underwater exploration. Every year Beneath the Sea gathers together nearly 400 exhibitors including a host of experienced and respected international professionals working in all sectors of the scuba diving, oceans environmental, and underwater exploration communities. Together with the Beneath the Sea team of Directors and volunteers they create a weekend of excitement, education, special events, and parties, all in celebration of the underwater arts, education, and science.

Throughout this dynamic weekend Beneath the Sea presents to an interested and involved public information illustrating the sea changes of our times, an update for all members of our ocean community. Education being the most important part of Beneath the Sea’s charter, we fulfill that obligation by offering an extensive series of scholarships, a Marine Careers program, and acts as sponsor for over 60 seminars and workshops examining life in and on the oceans of the world. Our scholarships are available on the Beneath the Sea web site as are the seminars and workshops, organized by Beneath the Sea and conducted by specialists and industry experts invited to the Beneath the Sea weekend.

Add to all that, new product introductions, equipment demonstrations, presentations from exotic dive destinations, and always the rattle, buzz and hum of social events and parties that celebrate the coming together of old friends, and the making of new friends. A Beneath the Sea weekend entertains, informs and excites the experienced diver and new diver alike, while engaging non-divers to become a part of this fraternity of friends from beneath the sea.

WD-4 Wide Angle Conversion Dome by IkeliteFebruary 5, 2009 - 8:05 pm
Ikelite proudly announces a elegant and affordable solution for wide angle photography with the Canon Powershot G10.

WD-4 Dome Lens for G10

The new WD-4 Wide Angle Conversion Dome provides all of the benefits of a dome port underwater without the limitations.

The WD-4 simply slides onto the standard port of the Ikelite housing for the G10— no modification to or replacement of the housing's original port is necessary. The WD-4 can be removed and replaced underwater so there is no limit to the camera's zoom or macro capabilities. Approximately 3/4 of the camera's zoom range can be used with the dome in place.

The conversion dome corrects for the refractive magnification of the flat port underwater to restore the camera's original angle of coverage. The WD-4 and Canon G10 combination provides 28mm angle of coverage with incredibly crisp corners. In comparison this option is wider and sharper overall than a housed Canon G9 underwater with external wide angle lens.
