Yasemin Dalkilic returning to the depthsNovember 13, 2009 - 9:31 am
The Turkish freediver will attempt a new Variable Ballast record

Photo: Courtesy www.yasemindalkilic.comYasemin Dalkilic, one of the most accomplished freedivers in the World is returning to the depths after more than 5 years dedicated to humanitarian activities. During her amazing competitive career Yasemin achieved 8 world records in Variable and Constant Ballast categories.
Yasemin’s diving career seemed unstoppable, until she was diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer which threatened her life and required immediate surgery.
She never gave up her love for the Ocean and became an activist helping raise awareness and funds for cancer research, the WWF, and many other causes. she considers this her proudest achievement.
In early 2009, the Turkish Government approached Yasemin with the idea of doing a record to promote Turkey around the world. Her Variable Ballast world record attempt is scheduled for December 25, 2009 with a depth goal of -125 meters. Good luck!

Tony Wu meets the last Ama diver in Futo harborApril 30, 2009 - 11:11 am
The renowned underwater photographer writes about the Woman of the sea in his blog.

Tony WuTony Wu, one of Asia's most renowned underwater photographers posted an touching story in his blog about the last Japanese Ama diver in Futo harbor. Bringing both melancholy and sense of calmness, Tony's documentary about the dying Ama's traditions is one of the best stories I have stumbled upon in a long time.
Tony's perfect portraits complement his intimately simple writing style in the most moving way.

Take your time and read Tony Wu's post - you won't regret it.
